Problem: Understanding the conventional game of chess, redesign the chess set in an unconventional way. Solution: Thinking of a chess set as a hierarchy of objects, I was inspired by the variety of creative ways that people try to squeeze toothpaste out of the tube when it starts to run low. To move each piece, a player can unscrew the tube from its cap and twist it into the cap on a designated tile.
