LIQUID LIGHT FLIGHT
As the Artistic Director for Liquid Light Flight, Wild Arts Collective's deep dive showcase into an acrobatic underwater imaginarium, I wear many hats. I am the Set Designer, Fabricator, Projection Designer, Projection Artist, Makeup Designer and Costume Coordinator. For the set, I fabricated 30 ft tall seaweed out of surplus parachute silk, recycled plastic bags and mylar. The acrobatically-functional set moved with the wind to mimic how Giant Kelp moves in water. As the wind blew, the flying trapeze rig transformed into a billowing kelp forest, acrobats becoming creatures of the sea. For the projections, I developed an interactive setup that invited any participant to create dynamic, mess-free liquid visuals and utilize materials from their surroundings. The dialogue created between the Projection Artist, Live Musician, Aerialist and Fire Artist blossomed in real time as a transcendental syncopation unique to that moment.
