As a culmination of my art and circus training, I decided to give the words “aerial art” new meaning with this series. In making each of these aerial drawings, I placed a 5'x5' canvas underneath the aerial silks. I then climbed onto the silks, wrapped myself for varying specific drops, dipped the tip of the silks in India ink, and performed the drop. As I unwound, the ink on the silks brushed the canvas, creating a two-dimensional footprint of my three-dimensional movement in space. I created thirteen drawings of this kind, each drawing representing only one drop.
