Aerial Drawings
As a culmination of my art and circus training, I decided to give the words "Aerial Art" new meaning with this series. In making each of these Aerial Drawings, I placed a 5'x5' canvas underneath the Aerial Silks. I then climbed onto the Silks, wrapped myself for varying specific drops, dipped the tip of the silks in India Ink and performed the drop. As I unwound, the ink on the Silks brushed the canvas, creating a two dimensional footprint of my three dimensional movement in space. I created thirteen drawings of this kind, each drawing representing only one drop.
